In Austin, location-based services such as FourSquare give people a real-time gauge of which events are hopping (and which are, as is often the case, too crowded for comfort). Group-texting services such as GroupMe and the Facebook-acquired Beluga allow friends and colleagues to privately coordinate plans over SMS, and savvy Twitter users can use the microblogging service as a real-time window into just about any corner of the festival they might be missing out on.
