Telescope to take you to the stars.

Well I went out to UNSW the other day to see my Professor. He was cool.
Boy, was that One BIG campus, pretty ugly in parts but the rest of it looks quite good.
Of course I had trouble finding my way, was my dad right when he said I'd better have my act together.
Fortunately I had plenty of time and arrived 5 minutes early. It was in a building in or near to the one pictured which is a good identification point.
Once I was inside I got kinda disoriented so ended up not knowing where I was, but I eventually found it. Just as I got to the Professor's door, some dude happened along, took one look at me, said, sit there, on a chair outside the door. When the Professor wants you he'll come and get you.
So I sat staring at the door, feeling like a proper twit.
Promptly at the appointed time, the door opened and there stood an ordinary looking guy about 50ish. Come, come, come, be quick so I leapt out of my seat and just about ran inside.
To cut a long story short he told me how hard I'd find it not being straight out of school and I'd let 3 years go by.
He said he'd do what he could to assist me, but that I should either enrol in Summer School or do some work on my own, perhaps get a coach, he said.
Otherwise, if you don't know what you're doing the other students will not like you, you'll be ostracised and that will make things doubly difficult for you, and you won't like dealing with schoolies.
Come back in two weeks and if I think you're on the right track I'll do what I can to help you. UNSW has its own ideas about things, no matter what I say.
Otherwise you're going to miss another year as you're too late for the normal channels now and they still may not accept you.
I went away with my tail between my legs. Dad hasn't asked me much about it yet but HE WILL.
More on this on another post, it's starting to depress me already.
Now for some techy things for you from Techno the geek.
4-in-1 Astronomical Terrestrial Digital Telescope - Links to your computer
Have fun exploring the skies above with this 4-in-1 Astronomical Terrestrial Digital Telescope. It can be used as a digital still camera, digital video camera, web cam and telescope. Connect your telescope to your computer using the USB connector and supplied software to download your images and video.
This digital telescope features a new focusing mechanism, fine eyepieces focus adjustment with spirit level and adjustable compass for greater accuracy, it is ideal for viewing clear and vibrant images day or night
Sounds pretty cool to me and it costs only about $220.
You don't want to end up like this, do you?
