Do you know what the smartpen is?

November 6th 2007 07:29
smartpen
Here it is

The Livescribe smartpen revolutionizes the act of writing by recording and linking audio to what you put on paper. Tap on words or drawings in your notes, and the smartpen plays back audio from the time you were writing. Transfer notes to your PC to organize and store.

As you know, I don't have a strong grasp on technology. Can you explain a bit more..? What is the audio of? Sorry to be dense.

Oh wow, this is exactly what I need! To echo Tracy, where can I get one???? Can I get one in time for Xmas? Sadly, if I write more than 1 A5 page, my fingers start hurting.

Tracy and Aimz, I'm glad you like them. Sorry don't know where to get them but I don't think it would be too difficult and I can't see their cost as being unreasonable, if I hear I'll let you know.

Michaelie, the audio comes in the equipment as you write and listen in the lecture, it picks up the sound as you begin to write and can deliver it later to your PC.

I think that is how it would work, note the attachments.

I'm with Michaelie!

Does it record what you have written, that is, it turns written words into speech by running the pen over the words?

Or does it record what you are mumbling and bitching about as you write?

If the latter, could be some people in for embarrassing presentations at work...especially if they did the project a bit pissed the night before and hate their boss!!

cheers

fog, I think it records the spoken word when it begins to write (feom the speaker in the room) opposite way around to what you are suggesting.
