New blind spot technology for Ford
October 10th 2008 09:10
Ford is on the cutting edge of new vehicle technology.
And now Ford is introducing a new technology for their 2009 cars: the Cross Traffic Alert with Blind Spot Monitoring system. The system will be available on most Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln vehicles and will come in two ways.
Both systems will feature built-in radar sensors in the rear bumpers of the vehicle that detect when a car is in your blind spot. The first version of this system will feature a tiny red LED built-in to the corner of the rearview mirror that will illuminate when a car enters the blind zone.
The upgraded system will interface with the vehicle diagnostics display built-in to the gauge cluster, alerting drivers which blind zone is occupied.

Although this is a good idea I do wonder what's wrong with just looking over your shoulder the way your driving instuctor taught you.
Nonetheless, thank you for the motoring news
