New use for Blackberry phones - Big brother is on to you.
March 17th 2008 04:51
From Dublin, Presswire comes the news of PocketCop version 3.5 for BlackBerry smartphones from Research In Motion (RIM) which is BIO-key's solution for secure access to federal and state law enforcement and motor vehicles databases from handheld devices.
With PocketCop, the company noted, officers on foot, motorcycle, bike, marine and mounted patrol, as well as investigators and command-level staff, can quickly and easily identify a wanted person or stolen vehicle directly from a BlackBerry smartphone.
According to Bio-key's chief executive officer "It keeps all of the department's officers and investigators informed and connected. And, with over the air deployment and updates, the savings in man-hours quickly provides a rapid return on investment by keeping IT personnel focused on the rest of the department's needs."
Sounds good for the goodies and bad for the baddies, but that's good isn't it.
techno, the geek, the magnificent.
Incidentally I got into Uni, late, by almost two weeks, I'll tell you all about it in another post as soon as I have time. I'm all at sixes and sevens, feel I can't count anymore.
Boy is my dad laying it on the line to me. What do you expect?
