Google's new no Pod and a solar tower in Dubai

Towering building

This skyscraper called the Burj al-Taqa (’Energy Tower’) will be built in Dubai, and it will produce 100% of its own power.

That will take a lot of solar cells.

Designed by German architect, Eckhard Gerber, it will have 68-story building one of the world's tallest building.

With its own natural air conditioning system, lateral openings in the towers suck in cool air like a chimney.

The heavier cool air sinks down and displaces the lighter hot air, creating a comfortable temperature inside the living space despite the scorching sun.

Google's not bringing out a phone but a software package (so it can sell more ads) so there we have it.

WOW! Great concept with the tower. I saw recently, some guy holding a special type of solar cell that was HUGELY more powerful than the normal one we can buy. I think it was NASA developed, maybe, but the point being, we can and DO have the technology that will help our power/pollution crisis already, but some forces are holding back on it...no prize for guessing who 'they' might they be....(he says leaning on a rusting oil well)....

The pod thang...yeah...more adddzzz..bugger em!
