Is technology a boon for family life?

Most parents think technology has benefited their family lives, despite the very obvious concerns parents have for their family values and exposing their children to obscene, violent and pornographic material.
I think those advocates are the scum of the earth.
Appealing to man's baser instincts does nothing to contribute to society it just feeds a sick and sickening trend.
They like the cell phones that allow them to keep tabs on their kids
they like the better class of video games
they like the assistance kids can get with their homework
about 1 in 3 parents are not happy with the effects technology has on their family
Technology takes up too much of their kids time, destroys concentration, encourages bad manners and exposes them to all kinds of things the parents feel are inappropriate.
Technology won't solve every problem and the sooner we all learn this the better is the expert view
