Intel CEO Paul Otellini delivers the keynote address Monday at the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco, where he outlined a blueprint for extending the chipmaker's reach well beyond personal computers.
SAN FRANCISCO -- Intel wants to be more than just PCs.
It wants to be smart phones. It wants to be tablet computers. It wants to be TVs.
To borrow a phrase from Apple, it wants to think different.
At the annual Intel Developer Forum here, Chief Executive Paul Otellini laid out a blueprint Monday for "transforming" the chip maker for a fragmented industry.
"The landscape is going to get complex, but if we work together we can make it simple," Otellini told a few thousand techies who packed in for his keynote address. "Intel's evolving. We're expanding our capabilities."
