Intel security software market with McAfee
August 20th 2010 09:30
Intel Corp., the world's largest chip maker, is buying its way into the security software market by paying about $7.7 billion to acquire one of the biggest players in the cyber-protection field, McAfee Inc.
Intel of Santa Clara, Calif., said the acquisition, one of the year's largest technology deals, could allow it to build McAfee's anti-virus technology directly into its chips.
Sounds pretty cool to me, just think security built right into your chip, that would save a lot of hassle, personally I don't like Macafee, too much popping up about nothing much at all.
It wouldn't be a good thing if your computer crashed every time there was a "threat" would it.
