Cars that run on water - a Honda, would you believe?
June 12th 2008 04:52
As seen in this week's Top Gear, the new Honda FCX Clarity Concept car is the first car ever to run off Hydrogen Fuel cells, thus emiting nothing other that water into the atmosphere.
This car is one of the most important cars ever made, helping to solve problems like Global Warming and oil shortage. It drives like a normal car, even if it is on the slow side (127 bhp, Max Speed of 100 mph), but this can be developed if cars like this are put into production. The car's fuel cell gives out 100KW of energy into the car, that could power an entire street of houses!
The problem with Hydrogen energy, is that there's no real way of storing it for large amounts of time and if your energy cell runs out (I think they do) then you're going to be a bit stuck to get it refueled.
However, if all these flaws are fixed and someone manages to create a way of storing hydrogen fuel cells, then fuel emission will be a thing of the past.
Well, I have my doubts myself, how about you?
