Ford's verve concept car.
April 1st 2008 08:27
According to Ford The new concept Verve, first showing at the Frankfurt Auto Show, is already making such a splash with journalists, dealers and enthusiasts that company executives keep raising its sales forecasts. Ford now expects to sell one million of these vehicles. And the car's drivetrain hasn't even been announced. Its design is certainly bold. Though its basic lines play off the current Focus, an oversized grille and exaggerated cat-eye headlights suggest that future versions of the car could easily sell in a sport category, perhaps with a supercharged, sub-two-liter engine. The Verve replaces the aging Fiesta and will appear in Europe first, most likely in late 2008. But company executives affirm that it will eventually arrive in North America. It will also share a platform with the Mazda2.
As I understand it this is a hydrogen fueled car, but some of these things tend to get a bit confusing.
One thing for sure is that competition is keen but I am yet to be convinced as to when the real thing will be available to relieve greenhouse emissions.
Even the experts do not make these things clear.
One thing I will give them is that they certainly look good.
