Olympus Waterproof, Techno's weekend.
October 12th 2007 22:25
Ah, Friday night, followed by Saturday morning and I'm actually up and awake and crept out the backdoor so I wouldn't wake everyone else up and was just so taken by the sun filtering through that I took this photo. I found it so inspiring out there as such sun scene's never last for long and anyway it was a bit chilly and I don't normally feel the cold, being a guy, I suppose.
I still can't believe I'm up and at it. But I need to meet up with my mates later on this morning and we'll be up, up and away. You know how it is. Got a ferrari.
It seems a lot of you are interested in cameras of the digital variety and Nina mentioned her Olympus, I've yet to find out why she can't use other cards but I suspect maybe when she got hers those multi-user cards just weren't available. Whether that's still the current situation or whether now 'one size fits all applies' I don't know but I'll try to find out.
What I did find, and there are many types of Olympus cameras, is one which is 'water friendly' so you can use it in the rain.
So as Nina spoke so favourably of hers I thought I'd give you a quick run through on this one.
But to start I've got this 'montage' of photos from the Olympus website.
With a slim, Splashproof metal body in Midnight Black or Starry Silver, the Olympus Mju 820 is well designed and functional. It has 8.0 megapixels, 5x optical zoom, large 2.7" HyperCrystal LCD screen and is splash resistant - this camera is good for around the pool, for a hike in the rainforest or a walk and photography in the rain.
The technology used by Olympus sharp allows sharp focus on the subject's face, and displays a green frame on the LCD monitor to indicate when faces are detected. It also recognises when there are no people in the frame, and automatically adjusts the focus and exposure accordingly.
That all sounds pretty cool.
It's Panorama feature means you can get 3 shots and the camera will join them together for you automatically, when using that mode.
I'm planning a post on memory cards quite soon which I hope will be helpful.
And I'll keep on the lookout for gadgets that will improve your photography skills.
For today, it's not a matter of singing in the rain, but of photography in the rain, even though today any thought or rain looks like a long way away.
So, I'll be going soon and then I'll be 'on the road again'
I'm giving you a couple of views here, one of the route we'll be taking and one of the place we'll pass, some of you may even recognise it.
Enjoy this wonderful day and have a great weekend.
I do hope you liked my post, let me know will you?

Your coastal view brought back lots of memories and I, too, like to be out on the open road, but I don't have a ferrari. You're having a great life as a young man, Techno.
Early morning sun was very calming, I liked this post very much.
